Be part of conversations that matter

1-2 October 2024
Bangkok, Thailand

CDx builds a community of decarbonization leaders and empowered businesses, all committed to achieving net-zero goals.

At COP28, 124 countries pledged to triple renewable energy capacity and double energy efficiency improvements by 2030.

Southeast Asia, a major player in this transition, hosts companies committed to renewable energy and emissions reduction. However, these businesses are facing several challenges including high costs, regulatory confusion, and knowledge gaps.

More than a forum

CDx was created to address and take action on corporate decarbonization challenges through curated learning sessions and interactive discussions where all participants can engage in dialogue.

Organized by ACE Partners, the first CDx will take place on 1-2 October 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Agenda Overview

We intend to structure CDx 2024 around four modules that directly address the decarbonization challenges faced by corporates:
Module 1: Understanding the State of Play
A comprehensive look at the current market landscape for decarbonization action, highlighting the challenges and prospects unique to Asia. This will include the role of different industries in achieving national emissions reduction targets, policy and supply chain imperatives for decarbonization, investor and consumer sentiments, and baselining and target-setting.
Key questions will include:
  • How are different industries in Asia currently contributing to national emissions reduction targets, and what are the primary challenges they face?
  • In what ways are investor and consumer sentiments shifting towards favoring decarbonized businesses in Southeast Asia, and to what extent will these sentiments be a market driver?
  • What are the emerging policy and supply chain demands that are driving the urgency for decarbonization within the corporate sector?
  • How can companies identify and measure their organizational carbon footprints most effectively?
Module 2: Planning Pathways for Decarbonization
Discussions focused on developing decarbonization strategies and technology options. The focus will be on alternatives and technologies for decarbonization across various sectors, project development and feasibility, and the ins and outs of carbon offsetting.
Key questions will include:
  • How can corporations understand and address their pain points and requirements in their decarbonization journey?
  • What diverse strategies are available for decarbonization across various energy sectors or projects – across energy efficiency, renewable energy, and carbon offsetting – and covering electricity, thermal needs and liquid fuels?
  • What is required in formulating an effective decarbonization action plan and establishing project feasibility?

Module 3: Executing Projects and Securing Finance
A deep dive into avenues for commercial and concessional financial support, project development techniques, and best practices in decarbonization deployment.
Key questions will include:
  • What challenges do companies face in obtaining the necessary financing for decarbonization, and how can these be overcome?
  • What are the available avenues for securing commercial and concessional financial support for decarbonization projects?
  • How can companies follow best practices in decarbonization deployment and project execution?

Module 4: Reporting & Brand Visibility
Guidance on reporting requirements, transparent decarbonization communication, and optimizing initiatives for credibility, visibility and brand value.
Key questions will include:
  • What are the essential compliance requirements for transparent and effective reporting on decarbonization?
  • How can businesses ensure that stakeholders see their decarbonization communication strategies as authentic and trustworthy?
  • How can companies optimize their decarbonization initiatives to enhance their brand’s credibility and visibility in the market?

CDx at KX

The CDx launch will be held at the Knowledge Xchange for Innovation (KX) Center at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) in Bangkok. The University has designated KX as the center for facilitating exchange of knowledge, technology, and innovation capability. "CDx at KX" offers the ideal setting for our launch event, perfectly aligning with the participatory nature of CDx and distinguishing it from other industry conferences.
